We’ve seen two new estates, a rather interesting Focus ST and something that I referred to as “a tupperware box on wheels.” Now we can move on to a few more cars set for release in 2012 that may, if they’re fortunate enough, make it onto our homepage again in the new year. So, without further ado…
The old 300C was great. At the time of its release, its appearance was like that of no other car in its price range. The new model certainly lives up to its predecessor, and although the gigantic snarling grill has been tamed, and the whole car made to be much easier on the eye, its almighty presence still remains. And, because it’s sold at such a reasonable price, it’s not too difficult to own one. Bare in mind, with this being American, the engine will drink fuel like there’s no tomorrow.
BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe
Both myself and DM have had a problem with BMW for a while now. It seems as though they’re attempting to make every car that they sell look exactly the same, as DM kindly pointed out in his last post, criticising the X6 of being an awful car – for the record, I concur. However, this new Gran Coupe has managed to attract my attention. I think even DM will agree that it looks astonishing. The interior, for a start, is exquisite. The exterior is also sublime, and if you can just ignore the price of the thing, it’s shaping up fairly well. My only question is, will we see the end of the 2-door Coupe in the next few years? So far, we’ve had the Mercedes CLS, the Audi A7 and now this. If anybody else decides to jump in the bandwagon, it might just be the final nail in the coffin of the original coupe…
We know that the A1 is a good car. And although I’m personally not the biggest fan of Audi vehicles across the board, and don’t know enough about them to truly pass judgement, the A1 comes with the recommendation of DM. It’s a fun looking little car, and Audi will be attracting a much larger audience as they release the S1, the A1 Convertible and the A1 4-door. Like all cars made by Audi, I’m sure there will be no problem trying to sell them either. The S1 is to be released with a new 1.6l engine developed by Audi, providing 220bhp to a car no bigger than a shoe! It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
And finally… The new Mercedes Benz A-Class/B-Class
The New B-Class has already been unveiled to the public, but the new A-Class should be news to you. Yes, they have now made the test model and although the bodywork is completely covered up, we can discern that the shape has been changed drastically – it actually looks like a car now! Anyway, they’re both German, so they’ll be great to drive. As for the appearance of the B-Class, maybe that is to be desired. The interior on the other hand is superb in the B-Class, so it’s not all bad news.
All of the photographs of cars in both this post and my last are included in the slideshow below.
That just leaves me to wish you all the best for the New Year!
